Mac Setup — Fibernetics AI Academy

Macs are the easy ones. 🍎

No Ubuntu needed — Claude runs right in your Terminal. And because Macs already have admin access, you get the fuller toolkit.

Open the Terminal app (press ⌘ Space, type Terminal, hit Enter) and follow the two steps.

Install Claude (skip if you already have it)

Paste this into the Terminal and press Enter. When it finishes, close and reopen the Terminal.

⌨️ Paste this into the MAC TERMINAL

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

Then type claude and press Enter — sign in with your Claude account when the browser opens. If you don't have an account yet, make one at claude.ai (a paid Pro or Max plan is required).

Set up Claude

With Claude running, do the one-paste setup — a single block you paste into Claude as your first message. It asks whether you’re new to this or a developer, detects your Mac, and sets everything up: shortcuts, tools, safety settings, and plugins. Approve each step as it goes — about 5 minutes.

Done! ✅ When the paste finishes, quit Claude and reopen it — the setup page tells you exactly how to start Claude from then on.

If something goes wrong

"command not found: claude"

Close and reopen the Terminal after Step 1, then try claude again.

Homebrew asks for a password

That's your Mac login password — it's invisible as you type. Type it and press Enter.

Your Claude plan is probably free — Claude Code needs Pro or Max. Check with Zoe.
